BABY SHAKES - PUNKIGER SUNSHINE POWERPOP
Baby Shakes from New York, with their punk power pop, which has been sun-ripened for around 15 years, are a perfect match for us and our Rockaway Beach called Waldbad. These are easy, fluffy melodies that you should wear sun protection factor 50 for if you don't want to risk animal sunburn. Warm welcome!
ERROR SNIFFS - FINEST 77S
Since we think it's important to support younger and not too well-known bands, we make sure to do justice to this point every year. In this context, we would like to introduce you to Error Sniffs in 2020, who play gaudy punk rock, founded in 2016 and specify Erfurt as their place of origin.
VERY FINEST DARK-POPPUNK - THE LILLINGTONS
At first they were very Ramonesque old-school poppers, in 2017 they came back as dark poppers with the album "Stella Sapiente" and landed a real mega-hit with it. We are really excited that we can confirm The Lillingtons for 2020 and that as the only Schland festival show ever.
Our Facebook flitz beeper is constantly whistling the songs to us as weirdly as possible out of sheer joy. Hopefully it will be July soon so that this ends!
"AND WHEN WE ARE NOW THERE ..."
"... we could just introduce our current project!" Yes why not? Dan Schafer alias Dan Vapid will strap on the guitar a second time and offer a fat lookup with Dan Vapid & The Cheats.
SCREECHING WEASEL, RIVERDALES,... - THE METHADONES
Although The Methadones musically differ a little from the Ramonesque sound of the two bands around front man Ben Weasel, there is this direct connection. The guys from Chicago were invited to the Punk Rock Raduno Festival in Italy and we were able to persuade them to give a second concert on European soil. Here we go!
L.A. MACHINA
We didn't really know L.A. Machina by name, but we were convinced when we found out more about their souund and past. We stumbled upon THE DOLLYROTS, VIVET, DEATH VALLEY GIRLS or THE DARTS . And to complete the name dropping: they also gamble at the Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival, then the band also fits in perfectly with us.
THE CREEPSHOW!
Call it psychobilly, call it rockabilly, rock`n`roll or punk or a mix of them, whatever - it doesn't matter. What matters are the melodies for The Creepshow to have a feel for. It's great that after a long time it fits between the Canadians and us again. Oh ... and if everything goes as the band imagines, then they'll even come out with album no. 6 to Glaubitz.
NOW IT'S GONE ASI, BUT SO RIGHT, BUT REALLY NOT REAL - MÜLHEIM ASOCIAL
The Kölsche Jungs Mülheim Asozial are an almost perfect blueprint for one of the best action German punk bands of the eighties, but there is definitely more to it than that. There is a lot of DIY in the band's DNA, the support of various left-wing projects or an undoubted attitude towards right-wing shit. This gives the foursome everything you need as a punk band: heart and brain. First we strap a bottle of beer to our neck.
LORD JAMES CELRATE RELEASE AT BTF
Lord James will celebrate the record release party of their new studio album as part of this year's Back To Future. Front man André let us have a look at the cards. "Since we are making ourselves a little rarer in the coming months in order to put all our energy into the new record, we are already looking forward, like Bolle, to being able to present the new songs first in Glaubitz." So our anticipation is awakened. What about with you?
THE LAST GANG
The OC-Trio is a relatively new band at FAT WRECK and belongs, so to speak, to the offspring of the well-known California label. It is clear that they are also interested in ensuring that the next generation does not fall by the wayside. In the case of THE LAST GANG, we are very happy to help set it up. Because the singing of singer Brenna (also guitar) is as crisp as the overall sound, in which she is supported tightly forward by Sean (bass) and Robby (drums). It's going to be a great thing that suits us perfectly.
