CANCELLATION- CHUBBY AND THE GANG (UK)
"Lightning Don't Strike Twice" - Unfortunately now it seems like it does. Holy crap, but unfortunately CHUBBY AND THE GANG canceled us at short notice without giving any precise reasons. Super annoying, we were really looking forward to the British. Whatever you want to do, complaining has never helped, the nightly slot is now taken by MIKE AND THE ASSFUCKERS. Thanks to Torgau!
So THE RUNNINGS starts at Waldbad on Saturday at 12 p.m. So you can pet your Friday hangover a little bit.

After the downer of the illness-related cancellation of 7 SECONDS - see previous post - we went through our imaginary band wish list again yesterday with our index finger. And stopped quite high up:

CANCELLATION - 7 SECONDS (US)
We regret to inform you that 7 SECONDS have to cancel their planned tour due to health reasons. (see band statement below)
Of course, we understand this and wish you a speedy recovery.
We pulled out all the stops and can tell you that we found a great replacement in a short amount of time. Announcement coming tomorrow!
„Hey Everyone - It’s come to our attention Steve was hospitalized yesterday, and has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolism. A condition in which one or more arteries in the lungs become blocked by a blood clot. He has been administered care and medication. It’s his doctor’s orders that he doesn’t fly for at least 4 weeks, and gets immediate rest as this is a very serious condition. I’m very sorry to let you know that the band has to cancel this trip. If they had more time they could rehearse a replacement, but they sadly don't. Can you please reach out to all the ummed about this."

Greetings from Glaubitz! Once again we caught the warmest days of the year for the construction.
As you can see, we have our hands full and therefore little time to answer emails. But we have updated our website! Perhaps you will find the answer to your questions under ›INFOS – take a look! The downloads include the running order to print out and a map of the area, as well as the form for minors that you absolutely have to bring with you!
In our »FACEBOOK GROUP you can offer and find rides. Still room in your car? Maybe you can give a few train passengers a lift from Glaubitz station?
You can still get tickets up until and including Wednesday at our authorized ticket offices and at TixforGigs, after that only at the box office on site.
We'll keep working hard and are really looking forward to seeing you!

The early musical education project is running extremely successfully
The number of registrations for the family campsite has increased again this year! But we have made room and can offer a few more places to those who decide at short notice. Click here for »REGISTRATION
Unfortunately, it was not possible to move the family campsite to a quieter area as planned. As in previous years, you will find the entrance on the B98, at the Rodaer Weg intersection. ›HERE you can find the site plans.
Some of you have asked whether your registration for the family campsite was successful. Yes! Please do not wait for a confirmation email from us. If you have registered using the form, you are registered with us. We only ask for your email address in case we have any queries. Have you not booked a pitch yet? We still have a few available!

BAD NERVES (UK)
It's Coming Home... das hat bekanntlich nicht ganz gereicht bei der Europameisterschaft für England. Hingegen dürfte es kaum Zweifel geben, dass von der Insel immer wieder Bands kommen, die so außergewöhnlich gut sind, dass dem Hörer einfach die Spucke wegbleibt. Mit THE MEFFS, CHUBBY & THE GANG, den CYNIDE PILLS oder den BAD NERVES haben wir euch auch dieses Jahr vier Kleeblätter gepflückt. Und gerade letztere gehen momentan richtig durch die Decke. Das "uneheliche Kind aus RAMONES und STROKES" (Selbstbezeichnung), kein geringerer als Billie Joe Armstrong von GREEN DAY als Edelfan, eine gerade absolvierte US-Tour mit THE HIVES... es kann gut sein, dass dies hier der allerletzte Aufruf an euch ist, diese Band noch unter "Geheimtipp" verbuchen zu dürfen: "Ich war dabei, damals, BAD NERVES beim BACK TO FUTURE 2024, als die noch nicht so groß waren!"

PIY PUNK ROCK KARAOKE are back!
Date: Friday, July 26th - from 11 a.m. - shortly after washing the cat, so to speak. Where? - in the forest bath! The helmet will be painted properly again! So you could become the person who will be talked about in awe and admiration for the entire weekend from your "Moment Of Fame" onwards! Pats on the back at every beer stand ("You sang SLIME well!", "You really look like GG Allin!"), skyrocketing follower numbers ("... hey, you sounded like Otze!") and appreciative looks everywhere.
It's very simple: select and perform a song, grab your reward liquor and enjoy the fame! From DOWNWARDS to AGNOSTIC FRONT, from MOTÖRHEAD to BABOON SHOW, RANCID or WIZO! Here is the song selection for practicing!
After a self-imposed break, the punk rock jukebox is finally sparkling again! The band themselves describe the process like this:
"... you choose your favorite song on our flyer with the song list, then you come to the stage and tell us what you want to sing or write the song name and your name on a piece of paper and throw it into our song jar. Then as soon as it's your turn you come on stage, get the lyrics and we play and sing the song together! As a reward or as a little encouragement in advance, a pepper is placed down your throat as needed."

BEER YOGA - Drinking with Yoga
Bier-Cobra und Bier-Stuhl? Was für manche erstmal ziemlich strange klingt, ist quasi ein echter Geheimtipp auf dem Back To Future! Denn hier gilt eigentlich "Punkrock meets Wellness" - wieso also nicht schon früh "Saufen mit Yoga"?
Aufgrund unzähliger Nachfragen von fanatischen Bier-Yoga Fans gibt es dieses Jahr gleich an zwei Tagen eine Warm Up-Session fürs Festival: Das heißt am Freitag und am Samstag, jeweils um 10:00 Uhr, leitet euch unsere Punkrock-Yogalehrerin Simmi von »RIOTYOGA Leipzig durch eine feucht-fröhliche Bier-Yoga-Sitzung im Waldbad. Es ist einfach der perfekte Start in so einen langen Festivaltag! Erscheint bitte pünktlich mit eurem Handtuch oder Stranddeckchen an der Waldbadbühne!
Du trinkst kein Bier? Kein Problem, du kannst auch mit jedem anderen (auch alkoholfreiem) Getränk mitmachen! Also Prost und Namaste!

DUMMY TOYS (CHN)
DUMMY TOYS from China left open mouths and happy faces during their 2023 performance on our tent stage. We also thought the band was super cool, you celebrated the girls and obviously the band really liked that. At least so much so that the band wanted to stop by “as guests” before the actual start of their European tour this year. No way! We have created a last-minute slot for DUMMY TOYS! On the festival Thursday it's time for your ears!
Also important: Advance sales of hard tickets via our ticket form continue until Wednesday, July 17th. From then on there will only be online tickets available at TIXFORGIGS via our website. Winning a BTF festival ticket at the last second - what a dream!
One week before "Glaubitz" there will be one of two BTF warm-up parties.
The incredibly delicious CYANIDE PILLS will be warming up for Back To Future at the Alte Schule in Halle. DJ SUBHUMAN-TRASH will also have a few hard tickets left on site, just talk to him. Come and see us there, a superb supporting program is also planned.

PISSE have the shit on their hands
Boomer humor at its best, but unfortunately with a serious background:
In the band's rehearsal room, which our favorite Ronnys share with several Berlin bands (including the Back To Future-tested EASTIE ROIS), there was a break-in in mid-May, equipment was stolen and the whole place was devastated - damage amounting to €15,000.00. "If you rehearse, you can't do anything" sounds quite funny as a musician's saying, of course, but we are happy to share the band community's call: So if you have a few euros to spare, the PISSE boys will thank you at one of their rare performances in July!

Pack your swimming trunks, we’re going to the forest pool!
You shouldn't forget your bathing equipment, because like any other year, the neighboring forest pool offers all kinds of wellness:
It opens Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m., bands will play, you can take part in a yoga session, there are also fries and of course plenty of cooling off!

Only 30 days until the BACK TO FUTURE Festival 2024! 30 days sounds like a lot, we actually wanted to start today with our internally planned "30 days to a beach body" challenge, but we are slowly entering the hot phase of preparation. Maybe you can give us a little support? Since we don't quite have Check24's advertising budget, we still need old-school support:

Only 5 weeks until the punk rock wellness weekend in Glaubitz!
The organization team is rotating at full speed and is already preparing for the temporary move to Glaubitz. Since we have our hands full with the preparations, it will only be possible to order our elegant hard tickets until July 17th, 2024.
From July 18th, 2024 you can still order festival tickets to print out online at TixforGigs ... or you can continue to order our hard tickets from our authorized dealers (CoreTex Berlin, Gothic-Second-Hand Leipzig, Selectorz Großenhain), as well as in the online shops of ANGRY VOICE Records, Contra Records and CoreTex.
If you would like to secure this popular collector's item without pre-sales fees, it is best to order it today as the number is limited. Collective orders make sense (one-off postage) and make our work easier when shipping.

THE SELECTER (UK)
After a short and serious illness, Arthur Hendrickson, one of the singers of THE SELECTER, died a few days ago - absolute horror news that reached us last week. We are still affected and sad: “Gaps” – rest in peace.
Of course, turning this catastrophic news into a - well - "service post" doesn't feel right. Nevertheless, we owe you the information that - after consultation with the band's management - THE SELECTER's planned summer shows will take place as planned and therefore they will also play at BTF.

ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER
Sunday's election evening took a massive toll on our mood. Not only do we see our protected baby at risk in the long term... However, there is no danger this year, the community of Glaubitz has assured its support. We will comment again in the coming days when there is more reliable information.
So first of all, our slogan: We will always be there! ...and maybe we can cheer you up a bit with this year's announcement trailer. As always - we'd be happy if you shared it! ...perhaps more than usual due to the current circumstances - because we are slowly entering the home straight towards Back To Future!

RISK IT!-INTERVIEW
Summer is picking up speed, which means for us we're heading towards the festival with "Seven Mile" flip flops. But today Gregor from RISK IT! the word:
1) Gregor, you come from Dresden, not far from Glaubitz. I'm sure you've been our guest before... Well, RISK IT! are now a small institution when it comes to hardcore in Germany. How would you make BACK TO FUTURE appealing to a typical hardcore fan? In fact, BTF left a formative impression. In 1998, back then under the name "Unity Is A Weapon", it was the first festival I was able to experience. The line up speaks for itself and I basically hope that even HC-inclined listeners already have the BTF on their radar.
What makes BTF special for me (like Endless Summer RIP before) is the atmosphere. Not an event-Otto festival, but a relaxed get-together to have a good time. The whole thing is organized by people who come from the subculture themselves and put their heart and soul into it. The bottom line is exactly the things that make the difference and you can feel that as a visitor. There is also an outdoor swimming pool right next door. What more could you want?
2) We've rarely had flawless hardcore bands in the past, apart from acts like NEGATIVE APPROACH or HAMMERHEAD. How do you get the punk rock place up and running if, contrary to expectations, things don't go smoothly for you right away? The flyer from '98 already features bands like Full Speed Ahead and Right Direction. Adolescents have also been there several times. So there have always been a few acts from the genre and I have to admit that I don't really think about that stuff. We're looking forward to the show and if you can convey something as a band, you usually get something in return.
3) Your drummer is Straight Edge and always has to drive you. That's good for us, so we save on accommodation costs. But how does he keep it up? What do you think is going on in his head when he's allowed to drive you home? Haha, it's best you ask him yourself. Since there are usually six of us on the road and half of them are Edge anyway, I think that puts it into perspective quite well. So it's not like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde whip through the night alone. The bigger problem is usually agreeing on the point of departure after the show, as I like to chat away.
4) The obligatory final question: Are there any bands in the line-up that you (or you) are particularly looking forward to? 7 Seconds, The Briefs, Red London, The Pissed Ones and Hard Skin
